Medical House Call
Berlin
In six steps

How the specialist reaches you.

Six steps, typically 60 to 90 minutes from confirmation. No phone queue, no waiting room, no billing surprises — and a team that treats a house call like a private practice, not a stripped-down emergency service.

  1. 01
    2 minutes
    Step one

    Call or WhatsApp.

Phone or WhatsApp on +49 30 550 77 870 — daily 6 a.m. to midnight. A real staff member answers, no phone tree, no anonymous call centre. All we need: first name, address, phone, a single sentence on the symptoms.

What to have ready: Insurance card or proof of coverage, current medication list, prior reports if available, ID.
  2. 02
    Within minutes · 6 a.m.–midnight
    Step two

    Personal callback.

Typically within minutes our team clarifies symptoms, address and insurance status, dispatches the matching specialist — internist, GP or paediatrician — and gives you a binding arrival window.

If no house call is needed: You receive a recommendation — self-care, pharmacy, statutory on-call service 116117 or emergency services 112. Free of charge.
  3. 03
    60–90 minutes in Berlin
    Step three

    The drive to you.

The specialist drives themself — with the mobile diagnostic kit in the trunk. Typically 60 to 90 minutes from confirmation, subject to Berlin traffic, time of day and your district. Mitte and Charlottenburg are often faster; outlying Spandau, Marzahn-Hellersdorf or Reinickendorf can be a little longer.

What the doctor brings: Rapid tests (influenza, Covid, strep, CRP), blood-draw kit with accredited lab, IV supplies, wound-care kit, first-line medication. 12-lead ECG and portable ultrasound (POCUS) on request or when medically indicated.
  4. 04
    30–60 minutes on site
    Step four

    Examination & treatment.

Patient history, physical exam, on-site diagnostics as needed. The physician explains each decision. No time pressure, no rush to the next patient — we typically take 30 to 60 minutes.

Documentation: Clinical summary, sick certificate (AU), private prescription, referral if required — digital or on paper, in English on request. Full documentation per § 630f German Civil Code and § 10 MBO-Ä.
  5. 05
    After the visit
    Step five

    GOÄ invoice.

The invoice follows the visit, itemised per the German Schedule of Medical Fees. Typically included: house-call item 50 or 51, consultation (item 1), symptom-related examination (item 5), plus services such as ECG, blood draw or IV; travel surcharge by distance; statutory supplements (night, weekend, holiday). 14-day payment terms, bank transfer or card payment on site.

PKV, Beihilfe and travel-insurance submission: Privately insured patients and Beihilfe holders submit the GOÄ invoice to their insurer — reimbursement follows the individual policy, usually within two to four weeks. Self-payers and international guests may settle on site by card (Visa, Mastercard, Girocard, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or on invoice; international and travel insurers receive English-language receipts.
  6. 06
    Follow-up
    Step six

    Follow-up.

Lab results within 24 hours — by e-mail; by phone if abnormal. On request, Privatpraxis Reiche in Charlottenburg takes over follow-up care: check-ups, lab follow-up, specialist treatment. If inpatient care becomes necessary, RAB coordinates the hospital admission.

When care continues: Repeat prescriptions, follow-up consultations, specialist referrals. Privatpraxis Reiche serves as a calm anchor for chronic care — the house call becomes a real bridge, not an abrupt cut-off.
